Trainer to Sites: Help us Help You

Brad Brill photoYou may not know Investigator Trainer, Brad, but you might recognize his voice. Brad is the narrator of many eLearnings featured in the InSite newsletter/blog.

Brad has been with Covance for 22 years and prior to that worked in a microbiology laboratory at a hospital in the Southeastern part of the United States. Since joining Covance he has always worked in Central Labs and has held positions in the Laboratory and also in Project Management.

This experience, combined with his background, makes him an excellent trainer. One of the things he enjoys most about his job is what he learns at investigator meetings.“That’s when the real education begins. I get to meet the entire study team,” he said.

Another plus side to his job is traveling. In a typical year he will travel to 24-35 investigator meetings primarily throughout North America, but he has been to Europe four times.

In addition to holding face-to-face training presentations, Brad also creates Web trainings and answers questions over the phone.

When he isn’t on the road, he unwinds at home in his yard. “My therapy at the end of the day is to pull a few weeds,” he said.

Brad is also an avid hiker and has been to Mount Hood in Oregon and Glacier National Park in Montana, both in the United States.

Brad would like to encourage sites to frequently communicate with their contacts at Covance. “Please help us help you. We want to be more empathetic to the needs of the sites. It’s a demanding business.”
